Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology "Standards" awarded the Emirates Quality Mark to a Turkish Company (Kalekim) which is considered as one of the largest manufacturers of adhesives and mortar materials in Turkey.

HE Walid Bin Falah al-Mansouri, director general of the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology said at the delivery of the Emirates Quality Mark Certificate for the Turkish company, the importance of access to the UAE Quality Mark is a sign of quality products to meet the changes of the technical requirements laid down by ESMA through the product's compliance with international technical standards for this product, as well as the application of quality management system according to ISO 9001 standard and evaluation of production processes and final product in accordance with the UAE standards that related to the products.

He also said that increasing the number of companies winning the Emirates Quality Mark coincides with the state's strategy to improve the quality of products in the UAE markets in the next phase and in the globalization of trade and the increasing tendency on the part of government authorities to ensure the protection of consumers and to preserve the quality of the products in the State, noting that ESMA is the sole reference that legally authorized to issue of the accredited standards and the Emirates Quality Mark.

HE stressed that the Emirates Quality Mark boosts the confidence of the consumer products, holders of the Mark, which is a marketing advantage for these products, noting that access to this level came as a natural result of the procedures established by the Commission within the UAE quality mark program in line with the global action in the programs of conformity. He pointed out that the Emirates Quality Mark, was issued by ESMA and adopted by the Council of Ministers in advance in order to enforce standards of safety and security, since it has attracted by manufacturers and suppliers, as the Emirates Quality Mark logo to be put on products conforming to the requirements of the program of the mark where the confidence of consumers.

He explained that granting procedures include an assessment of quality systems and technical assessment of the plant and the procedures and systems of work, design, production and internal quality control in the factory as well as test and examination of samples from the production plant in specialized laboratories, adding that any product obtains quality mark gives the advantage of marketing for this product view of consumer trust in the UAE and the sign of quality requirements, calling other companies to make all the efforts needed to upgrade the quality of services and products in order to achieve excellence, excellence and access to UAE quality mark would support the economic performance in the UAE. HE also said that the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology awarded more than nineteen quality marks for products from different factories in and outside the country since the start of the program, noting that the Emirates Quality Mark was launched after the adoption of the decision of the Council of Ministers in 2007 after ESMA has actually launched the " UAE Quality Mark "reconcile the special quality of local and non local industrial products.

HE Walid Bin Falah al-Mansouri said that by this achievement the UAE becomes one of the pioneers in awarding the national quality mark in the region hoping that this new approach would raise the level of productivity for all plants in the State on regional and global level to provide better service for consumers and industry in the UAE is expected that this step of the competitiveness of national products in local markets, regional and global levels, adding that the Mark is the first of its kind in the UAE which specialized in accrediting the products quality that conform to the burden as the standard federal specifications. He expected that this non-compulsory mark to attract a large proportion of manufactured products on the domestic and external state-issued in the coming months, adding that the principle of the Emirates Quality Mark logo to products of national States is part of a strategy to improve the quality of national products in local markets and is also supported by exports I mean, outside the terms of the Quality Mark logo printed on the cards as these products conform to the approved standard specifications, which are based on international standards.

Walid Bin Falah al-Mansouri stressed that it was necessary to take measures to accelerate the application of the quality label to be Emirates, the UAE is one of the leading countries within the Gulf Cooperation Council, stressing that this was one of the main demands by ESMA sought to achieve. Walid Falah Al Mansouri explained on how to grant the Emirates Quality Mark that the factory, who wishes to obtain an initial label to apply to the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology and specify which product or products that required a slogan mark of quality for ESMA to make the necessary arrangements and the delivery of the factory version of the program to use mark of conformity and, after study and ensure the availability of the program requirements of this plant makes a request form prepared for this facility and the program under which the application of all the commitments relating to the application program and use the Quality Mark logo. HE stressed the importance of the consumers' role in the selection of products with quality and approved by ESMA, referring to a plan to raise awareness of the mark both at the level of consumers or manufacturers, production companies, which will contribute to the spread of the mark in the markets.

Mr. Nassar, the Export Director in Kalekim Company stressed that the company's acquisition of the Emirates Quality Mark is a new addition to the company, adding that Kalekim Company is one of the major companies in the field of chemical manufacturing in Turkey and the UAE quality mark promotes their products in the global market and helps the company to expand in the marketing of their products. He thanked Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology for its efforts in upgrading the quality of products circulating in the UAE market and in the dissemination of a culture of quality and excellence and efficiency of the functional operating task forces. He added that the company applied for the quality mark through to its confidence that this certificate will enhance the prestige of the company's regional and global markets and ensure continued commitment to the latest standards and requirements for quality systems in the manufacturing process are of such products.
