Accreditation procedures divided into four basic phases are:

Application of Accreditation
  • Conformity assessment authority (the Client) shall submit a formal application to ESMA.
  • Preliminary meeting with Client shall be hold to agree with the accreditation procedures and the expected costs.
  • The Client shall fill the application submit it to the accreditation management.
  • The accreditation department shall review the application with the attached documents to ensure its completion.
  • A received confirmation letter of the accreditation application shall be sent to the client.
 
Assessment
  • Select the assessors by the assessment department and the technical committee.  
  • The client approval of the suggested assessors.
  • Issuing assignment letter for the approved assessors.
  • Assessing the quality manual and the related documents.
  • Carrying out assessing for the technical qualification in the site.
  • Preparing a technical and final assessment reports.

Granting the Accreditation
  • The technical committee shall assess the reports sent by the assessors.
  • Accreditation committee shall recommend the suitable decision of granting the accreditation.
  • The board of director will be informed for the final decision.
  • The accreditation certificate shall be issued for the client.
  • The accreditation shall be declared in the formal newspaper and the website of ESMA.
  • Registering the accredited conformity assessment authority in the conformity assessment databases.  

Regular Assessment
  • Annual assessment visits for the accredited authorities.
  • Accreditation renewal after 5 years according to conformity assessment authority recommendations.
  • Execute the regular assessment by assessing the site efficiency as participating in the accredited laboratories on  a clear comparison programs or skills test or documentation reassessment.
